Natural Place
Kiddo {when I asked her to search for my phone}: Amma! Do you know the natural place for your phone?
Me {stops doing whatever I was doing & waiting for that enlightenment}: Where would that be?
Kiddo : Kitchen!
Me {All pepped up}: Now... Why would that be? Why is kitchen the natural place for my phone.
Kiddo {with a sheepish look}: Because you are always in the kitchen cooking something for me.
Yea! Remember that when you give that "look" when food is served! :-P

90-90
Yes! I am bubbling with ideas & energy. Since I do not have anything interesting or inspiring to do, I have decided to convert my own body into a laboratory! Of course I am subjecting it to all sorts of torture. Lets just figure out how long it will go on!
Oh! Yea! The plan! The plan is...
Hold the Plank pose for 90sec daily for 90days.
:-D
Now wipe that grin off your face!
Yes, I do not know if I can hold the plank for 90sec. Honestly, if I can hold it for 20sec, I would consider it a job done well. And I can slowly increment it as I progress through the practice. And yes, I agree, muscles would need rest, so I am allowing myself sufficient breaks within this 90days time frame. Psst! Any breaks more than 2days is not a break.
Any one giving me a company in this project?

Seeing things...
He : You will now be able to see things right!
He might have been teasing me with it. Okay! Fine! He was teasing me. But he does have a point. This is what they had mentioned when they were explaining shirashasana...
You gain a different perspective of what you see.
Well..... only time can tell... For now... wall is my best friend... and I am in no hurry to leave him ;-)
PS.
Kiddo could get into this pose with ease. Of course, with wall support. But it was Kiddo who gave me a few tips on how to get that feet off the ground. Proud moment babe! Proud moment for me... Mmmuah!

Bday Cards
This year, I received two bday cards. One from Kiddo & the other from her friend. Yes... both these cards did make my day... :-)
Here is a Poem for You!
We all love you as much you love. You are the only one in my hart. Please be happy for what we have done for you today. We love you a lot. That is why I have made this card for you today. And Reshmi Aunty made this biryani for you and us.
{This card was created much before the change in plans. Biryani was actually made by another friend. Well... the spoiler to this surprise party was when Kiddo asked for biryani's spelling}
This card is from Kiddo's friend.

A Day to Remember
Comments from a person who speaks with me. Judges please note... this is the first time I am speakkng with him and the conversation lasted for 15mins.
" It's very strange to hear. You need a good counselling lakshmi. Counselling in sense clinical Counselling. "
Note to self : Remember this day. Forget all others, but never this one.
Mr. Chithraguptan.... That was another check mark!
Mr. SP... You win!

Say Something.....
Those days when there is something nagging... and you have no clue what it is... or unable to give it a form... or translate it into words... or... well... you just know something is going on & what you are going through is not at all pleasant.
But this time... I hear this song....
Say something, I'm giving up on you.
.
.
.
.
And I will swallow my pride
But...
Still...
Yet...
I'm giving up on you.............
PS.

Surprises!!!
Planning a surprise for someone.... Aaah! What an arduous task!! You have to make sure that the "target" doesn't get even the slightest whiff of "The Plan"!! Ever been in that situation? Are you reliving that stiffness? Well... in that case... add an investigator for the target!
Yipz!! Today, I had such a situation. There was a fraction of a second where I even doubted my action. I could even feel her intense glare on my skin. The fact that she lives in a completely different city just did not help me at all. She had narrowed down the source to me, but, I believe she did not expect this one.... :-)
Happy Bday!! I hope you had a blast dear... :-) Mmmmuah!
Thank you my friend for making this happen for me... inspite of the fact that you were bed ridden... Mmmmuah! You are such a darling! :-) :-*

Innocence at its Best
Me {to my friend's kid}: So... How was your kids night out? Did you have fun?
Kid : I do not know... We forgot to have a kids night out.
His expressions were priceless. There was a sudden wave of realization... followed by sadness... followed by a long face...
Hero(the kid) picked up the term 'kids night out' & he wanted to take Kiddo to his place for the kids night out. After a lot of coaxing from our hero, I give in and sends Kiddo with our hero & his parents. The next day when I went to pick Kiddo, this is what I hear... They completely forgot abt their kids night out and went straight to bed :-))

Where are you?
She : The person you are trying to contact has ceased to exist. Please excuse.
I do not know what made her put this up. But, it did put me into a pensive mode... Hmmmm...
Hugs & Kisses for you dear... Whatever it is... :-) :-*

Instant Card, Chapter n+1
Recently, a friend of mine had shifted her spine. This is the card kiddo makes for her when she heard they are visiting us.
To Reshmi Aunty
From Nandana
A smiley for you!
{When you open the card, you have a questionnaire that goes... }
Hi Reshmy aunty, How is your Back?
Are you able to move?
Who took care of Josh and Leya when you had the hurt?
Did you get any plaster or any sprane in your back?
Thank you! for everything you have gave me. I wanted a ghagra, you bough me a ghagra. You did some things which I wanted a red B'day frock but amma choosed a blue colour cloth so I accepted it otherwise we will waste our time.
Thans & Regards
Yes! And I am stuck at 'I accepted it otherwise we will waste our time.'. The usage & concept of acceptance. Instead of convincing me on a color, she decided to let go. Grrr... this is where I get irritated for things not being black & white!! Grrrrr...

Shunya Mudra
Hearing problems are related to a person who is no longerbable to hear or even doesn't want to hear. This can be a blessing or a catastrophe. Poor hearing can protect us from unpleasant things or even from disagreeable sounds or information that find their way into us. On the other hand, we can also no longer hear beautiful things. Not wanting to hear is sometimes based on a particular kind of stubbornness that can lead to disaster. Consequently, if we are willing to scrutinise the reason for our hearing problems, this can lead us one step further towards a richer life.

Who is Snigdha?
While working on my earlier blog post, I stumbled upon the word Snighda. When I ask my friend, her face lights up & says,
'Its something good, but I do not know to explain it'.
Yes! This was what I was running behind all this while. Who knew I would be getting a detailed contextual meaning of this word from a guy I speak with for the very first time in my life. And of course... a bit of googling... O:-)
Google tells me Snighda means smooth & tender. It also means attractive. At one place I did find this meaning - Greasy, Oily, Pinguid.
Now how does that fit in our song?
Snighda in the song refers to not just a wet & oily hair. It also refers to that well oiled, greasy, smooth and fresh out of the shower types skin/body of the girl. This vision excited our protagonist & he was transported to his parallel universe.
PS.
This is poem. Your interpretation might be different from his. If you have a different version, leave a comment... I would really like to learn your view... :-)

Arikil Nee Undayirunnenkil
Today... I wake up to a friend's mail. He narrates how a simple daily act of commute was made special by his father. And he asks me, 'What was yours?'
Little did he know then that both of us will together make this day super special. We just tried to translate this song in the best way we could. This song is very special to many I know. And, today while we were translating it, we lived every line of this song in our own way.
This song is explained as understood by a girl.
Arikil neeyundaayirunnenkil
Arikil neeyundaayirunnenkil ennu njaan
Oru maathra veruthe ninachu poyi
Oru maathra veruthe ninachu poyi
(arikil)
Wish... I wish...
If you were beside me.
Yes! I know it is a mere wishful thought...
But... for a moment...
I just wished that you were beside me....
Raathri mazha peythu thornna neram(raathri)
Kulur kaatililacharthulanja neram
Ititu veezhum neer thulli than sangeetham
Hruthanthikalil padarna neram
Kaatharayaayoru pakshiyen jaalaka
Vaathilin chaare chilacha neram
Vaathilin chaare chilacha neram
Oru maathra veruthe ninachu poyeee
Remember the night...
Just after the rains...
When nature was setting the scene for us...
When the cool breeze was caressing leaves...
When the tunes played by the slipping droplets
Were creeping in our hearts spreading warmth...
When the angst bird tweeted near the window...
Then for a moment...
Merely a moment...
I wished.. if you were beside me..
(arikil)
Mutathu njan natta chambaka thaiyyile
Aadhyathe mottu virinja naalil
Snigdhamaam aarudeyo mudi chaarthilen
Mugdha sankalpam thalodi nilkke
Etho puraathana prema kadhayile
Geethikal ennil chirakadikke
Geethikal ennil chirakadikke
Oru maathra veruthe ninachupoyi
When the maiden flower blossomed on the jasmine I planted in the garden
Watching that special dream flower adorned on the wet hair of someone..
Lines of some epic love story start to swing its wings in my heart...
Then for a moment...
Merely a moment...
I wished.. if you were beside me..

Mommy Moment... yet another one
Kiddo... I am really impressed with the maturity levels you had displayed today. You had to choose, yet you made your decision without dragging it. You were hurt, yet you stood tall. You were sad, yet you decided to keep it your own little secret.
Yes, you had your support. Feel blessed for having them in your life dear. Be grateful that the universe has surrounded you with all these people. Above all... be humble.
I myself was finding it difficult to handle things when I got a peek of the picture. As always, you handled not just your emotions, but me as well. Yes! When I look back... You did give me a mommy moment... :-)
As you grow a year older, this is all I have for you... Be grateful. Mmmmuah!
You were amazing today.
