Unlocked!! What a girl wants.....

I am sure many would be shaking their heads in agreement when you read this list. Well, at least I was while my friend was listing this out....

Guys... this is applicable to average girls like me & a couple of my friends. If your better half does not fall into this average girl category I am referring to... there is a chance that you might be wasting your time here... :-D

  1. Need a desk job that doesn't require a lot of brain work and effort AND one that will fetch a lot of money.
  2. Vacation twice a year, its okay even if its within India.
  3. Maybe once in two years... a vacation abroad.
  4. Some help with the kid(s), not necessarily from either parents. But from the better half.
  5. Visiting hometown and staying equal days at both the half's places .
  6. One lunch and one dinner outings on weekends.
  7. Grocery shopping can be managed through online marts.
  8. Movies on release.
  9. Some more patience with kid1 so that by the time its kid2's turn we mellow down and become calmer.
  10. A good bank balance, less weight, anhour glass figure(ok, that's asking for too much, but lesser tummy).
Now Guys.... Heres something you guys can really start working on..... :-D

How do we girls achieve all these?????

Thihahahahahaha.... O:-)

Blood test Redefined

Kiddo {seeing a patch on my friend's arm}: What happened to your hand?
She : I had to get my blood tested. After they drew the blood, they marked the area.
Kiddo {now completely puzzled}: Why do you need to test your blood?
She : So that we can find out whether I am healthy or not.
Kiddo {in her revelation}: So they talk to the blood & find out if we are healthy or not.

I was narrating this to a friend & she goes...
One evening she & her sister were discussing about getting an ice-cream maker. Her sister was planning about making ice-cream daily with the help of this ice-cream maker. And that was when my friend's 7yr old goes....

Kiddo2 : Hmmm... So they will come Mon-Fri.

It took me sometime to figure out the significance of that statement. Kiddo2 imagined the ice-cream "maker" to be a person... :-D

Distorted form of love

A wife's message to her Husband : Happily live alone, i wont b a trouble anymore. Bye

And I was trying to explain to him, from a girls point of view, when & why girls make such statements. And he goes...

He {with the all knowing Krishna smile}: Yes, it is a demonstration of love and care.. A rather distorted form of love and affection..

Yes! 100s of 1000s of light bulb lit up at that moment :-)

Dheemi Dheemi - 1947 Earth

Was listening to song from 1947 Earth today... with clear attention to its lyrics... :-)

Lyrics & Meaning from www.hindilyrics.net

dheemi dheemi bheeni bheeni khushbu hai tera badan //Your body is a soft, subtle fragrance
sulage mahake pighale dahake //Once lit, it scents the air, melts, is consumed.
kyon na bahake mera man //Why should my heart not be staggered?
sulage mahake pighale dahake //Once lit, it scents the air, melts, is consumed.
kyon na bahake mera man //Why should my heart not be staggered?

voh chali havaa ki nasha ghulaa //A wind blows; magic spreads, dissolves;
hai samaan bhi jaise dhuaan dhuaan //this moment seems veiled by smoke.
tera ruup hai ki yeh dhuup hai //Your beauty is like sunlight;
khule baal hai ki hain badaliyaan //is this your unbound hair, or the clouds?
tu jo paas hai mujhe pyaas hai //Thirst strikes me when you're near
tere jism ka ahasaas hai //I'm aware of your body.
tu jo paas hai mujhe pyaas hai //Thirst strikes me when you're near
tere jism ka ahasaas hai //I'm aware of your body.
tu jo paas hai mujhe pyaas hai //Thirst strikes me when you're near

dheemi dheemi bheeni bheeni khushbu hai tera badan //Your body is a soft, subtle fragrance
sulage mahake pighale dahake //Once lit, it scents the air, melts, is consumed.
kyon na bahake mera man //Why should my heart not be staggered?
sulage mahake pighale dahake //Once lit, it scents the air, melts, is consumed.
kyon na bahake mera mann //Why should my heart not be staggered?

saans bhi jaise ruk si jaati hai //It's as if my breath draws to a halt;
tu jo paas aa'e to aanch aati hai //heat strikes me when you come near.
dil ki dharkan bhi mere sine mein larkharaati hai //Even my heartbeat stumbles in my breast.

yeh tera tan badan kaisi hai yeh agan //This body of yours, what sort of fire is it?
thandhak hai jism tu voh aag hai //Your body is a cool flame,
balkhaati hai jo tu laharaati hai jo tu //you who twist, you who undulate.
lagta hai yeh badan ek raag hai //It seems your body is a melody.
voh chali havaa ki nasha ghulaa //A wind blows; magic spreads, dissolves;
hai samaan bhi jaise dhuaan dhuaan //this moment seems veiled by smoke.
tera ruup hai ki yeh dhuup hai //Your beauty is like sunlight;
khule baal hai ki hain badaliyaan //is this your unbound hair, or the clouds?

tu jo paas hai mujhe pyaas hai //Thirst strikes me when you're near:
tere jism ka ahasaas hai //I'm aware of your body.
tu jo paas hai mujhe pyaas hai //Thirst strikes me when you're near:
tere jism ka ahasaas hai //I'm aware of your body.
tu jo paas hai mujhe pyaas hai //Thirst strikes me when you're near:

dheemi dheemi bheeni bheeni khushbu hai tera badan //Your body is a soft, subtle fragrance
sulage mahake pighale dahake //Once lit, it scents the air, melts, is consumed.
kyon na bahake mera man //Why should my heart not be staggered?
sulage mahake pighale dahake //Once lit, it scents the air, melts, is consumed.
kyon na bahake mera man //Why should my heart not be staggered?

Does this really happen or is it just in the magic of ARR & Hariharan???

Rating Thy Crush

He : Last night, I was ranking my crushes.

I could instantly sense my skin stretch to it max under influence of the wide grin that broke on my face. This was the reply I get from a friend on a Monday morning when I asked him, 'How was your weekend?'.

After a couple of drinks on a lazy Sunday night, he decided to rank all the girls he had a crush on since his school days. He categorized various aspects of a person & ranked all his crushes based on these categories. This exercise was conducted to figure out if he would have ever married any one of those crushes.

And the conclusion...
There are no complete woman.

Psst! I would say, no complete person. But Hey!!! I don't want to be the one to burst his bubble...

Fake it... Till you make it

There has always been a confusion... Which is the best course of action? Fake it or a complete Shut down?

Experts say, we have to fake it till we make it. But, most of cases, all I have seen is a complete shut down.

What do you think is the best course of action for you?

Attitude line!

Always wanted to make a note of this dialog made by Amitabh Bachchan in the movie Kaalia. Thanks to my lost friend for reminding me about this line today.

Hum bhi woh hain jo kabhi kissi ke peeche nahi khade hote. Jahan khade ho jaate hain, Line wahi se shuru hoti hai.

Radha....

The word 'Radha' contains four syllables - Ra, aa, dh and aa. If you start from Ra, you have Radha. Start
from aa, you get Aadhar. Start from dh, you get dhara. Start from aa, you get Aradh.

Adhar mean basis, Dhara means flow, Aradh means worship. Thus, Radha means stream of worship of the Divine.

Hmmm... Interesting... :-)

Laws of Attraction - Duh????

Yesterday, I was having an interesting conversation with my MM. What makes someone attracted towards
something the moment they lay their eyes on it? This 'it' could be anything - a lifeless object to someone from the opposite sex.

It all started with this story... So this person walks into a crowded restaurant and happens to see a lady in a group. And, he feels this strong sense of attraction towards her. Now you might ask, what was she wearing? How was she carrying herself? Was she flirting with him?

Well, the sad part is... Nothing spicy was going on there. She was not wearing anything provocative. And there were never any inviting glance or smile from her towards him. Yet, amidst the commotions of a crowded restaurant, he could feel this strong pull towards this girl.

Wonder how it feels to have such strong feelings. Without knowing what the other person is... Without having any impressions about the person... Standing on nothing & feeling that strong pull towards a person.....

Well... Either the violins started playing for him at that moment. Or, as the Discovery channel people always says, his wiring got lit up because of the evolution/DNA thingie.

Appropriate Response???

What is the best way to respond to a compliment? Thanks to a close friend who has observed me closely, I handle compliments.
am aware that I do not know to

Step 1 - Awareness - check

Ever since my friend's comment, I started observing myself during these situations. And I realize that I come up with some weird replies which throws them off. For example...

He: You have curly cute hair.
Me : Yes, I do. I am a Lee... MalyaLee

He : Has anyone told you, you are beautiful?
Me : No, I haven't yet met any visually impaired person.

Well... At least now, I have learned to bite my tongue & swallow my replies.

Step 2 - Shut your mouth up - check

Now, can someone help me with step 3???

Step 3 - Appreciate the gesture in a polite manner - ???

No a mere "Thank You" is so not me :-(

Who are these people?

What would you make out of two people having the following conversations....

Person 1: I don't know, why don't you say?
Person 2: Hmmm... I don't know either, why don't you suggest something?

A typical case of passing the buck when both of them clearly knows what they want for themselves. But why?

Uff! Complexities of human emotions & thinking... Kavilammeeeeee....

Canvas 3

This is the inside door of Kiddo's wardrobe...

Canvas 2

This is Kiddo's Yoga mat... She created a home for her dolls - Teddy & Betty - out of her Yoga mat. I am impressed with her attention to detail....

Canvas 1

Kiddo, we are soon going to run out of canvas...

This is how Kiddo has decided to decorate our fridge... She used red permanent marker for this... Sigh!

Uyirile - Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu

Listened to this song from the movie Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu after a long time & had been playing non-stop on all my players. The lack of understanding of this language used to make me wonder...

Why the heck am I feeling so heavy listening to this song????

Well... Thanks to Crazy Uncle, I now know why... Or so I believe ;-) O:-)

Enjoy this beautiful song on this beautiful day(sans the heaviness)... Happy Ugadi!!

Bavra Mann

I know this song from the movie Hazaaron Khwahishen Aisi. I think I like all the versions of this song. And today... I connected with this song in a strange way. And I keep surprising myself doing strange things.... Bavra Mann dekhne chala ek sapnaa..............

Sun in the earth, Sunflower
Bird in the air, Rain
Eye within eye, Day Break

bavra mann dekhne chala ek sapna (The bewitched mind is on its way to dream)

Streets we have never walked on
Windows we have never opened
Hands we have never held
Dreams we shall never... Never see again

bavra mann dekhne chala ek sapna (The bewitched mind is on its way to dream)
{lady moves to the background}

bavrese mann ki dekho bavri hain baatein (The bewitched mind has bewitched thoughts)
bavrisi dhadkane hain bavri hain saanse (It beats crazily and takes crazy breaths)
bavra mann dekhne chala ek sapna (The bewitched mind is on its way to dream)

Sun in the earth, Sunflower
Bird in the air, Rain
Eye within eye, Day Break
Lives we have never lived
Hopes we have never realized
Fires we have never lit
Loves we shall never... Never make again

bavra mann dekhne chala ek sapna (2) (The bewitched mind is on its way to dream)

Sun in the earth, Sunflower
Bird in the air, Rain
Eye within eye, Day Break
I hear those strange whispers again

Grey's Anatomy

Off late, am hooked onto the series Grey's Anatomy. Though I am watching the series regularly... I haven't
progressed beyond Season 3.

I understand Meredith Grey. I know Meredith Grey. I meet Meredith Grey. Wonder whether the Meredith Grey I know grows to the one in Season 5. And wonder if there is a Derek Shepherd..... Sigh!

Day 7

Ayyo Rama!

Rama Kills Shambuk - I read this story from the book '365 Tales from Indian Mythology'.

One day, an old Brahmin walked into Rama's court with the dead body of his son. He was crying and started blaming Rama for the death of his five-year-old son. The Brahmin said that he had never committed a sin in his life and couldn't understand why his son had died at such an early age. He was convinced that his son must have died as a result of some sins committed by Rama.

Rama was very sad and summoned Sage Vashishtha. The sage told him that a man called Shambuk, an untouchable, was doing a very powerful tapasya, which he was not permitted to do. If he was punished, the little boy would come back to life. Rama immediately left in search of Shambuk. Finally, Rama found Shambuk praying near a river in the forest. When Shambuk revealed his identity, Rama took out his sword and cut Shambuk's head off and the little boy became alive again.

Why do I feel uncomfortable at various levels???

Poets!

Heartbreak! What all it does to man?!? It turns best ones into Poets! And a lousy one too or maybe, I haven't learned to appreciate a poem yet.

In any case, this is how our conversation ended after He shared the poem He had penned.

He : Credit goes to my English Teacher!
Me {with a sly grin}: And Thanks to mine... I couldn't make any sense out of your so called poem.

Stability?

He : Whatever stability I have is after she came into my life.

Does everyone require that he/she to gain that stability? Is it not possible to remain stable otherwise? What if the person you believe gives you the stability goes away one day? What if you are unable to handle that?

PS.
I know people who haven't recovered from this after years. I also know people who have bounced back within weeks. But still????????????????
