The Face

This is what Kiddo makes when she had to wait for her mom to be free to tie her hair! The hairband on the top is a pony tail.

Shunya Mudra

Hearing problems are related to a person who is no longerbable to hear or even doesn't want to hear. This can be a blessing or a catastrophe. Poor hearing can protect us from unpleasant things or even from disagreeable sounds or information that find their way into us. On the other hand, we can also no longer hear beautiful things. Not wanting to hear is sometimes based on a particular kind of stubbornness that can lead to disaster. Consequently, if we are willing to scrutinise the reason for our hearing problems, this can lead us one step further towards a richer life.

Who is Snigdha?

While working on my earlier blog post, I stumbled upon the word Snighda. When I ask my friend, her face lights up & says,
'Its something good, but I do not know to explain it'.

Yes! This was what I was running behind all this while. Who knew I would be getting a detailed contextual meaning of this word from a guy I speak with for the very first time in my life. And of course... a bit of googling... O:-)

Google tells me Snighda means smooth & tender. It also means attractive. At one place I did find this meaning - Greasy, Oily, Pinguid.

Now how does that fit in our song?
Snighda in the song refers to not just a wet & oily hair. It also refers to that well oiled, greasy, smooth and fresh out of the shower types skin/body of the girl. This vision excited our protagonist & he was transported to his parallel universe.

PS.
This is poem. Your interpretation might be different from his. If you have a different version, leave a comment... I would really like to learn your view... :-)

Deal of the Day!

He : Will you sell your hair? I would like to buy it.

Okay! So this tops the lists now... goes way beyond the curly cute! Next time I struggle while I straighten out  my super tangled curly hair... remind me to remember this!!

Arikil Nee Undayirunnenkil

Today... I wake up to a friend's mail. He narrates how a simple daily act of commute was made special by his father. And he asks me, 'What was yours?'

Little did he know then that both of us will together make this day super special. We just tried to translate this song in the best way we could. This song is very special to many I know. And, today while we were translating it, we lived every line of this song in our own way.

This song is explained as understood by a girl.

Arikil neeyundaayirunnenkil
Arikil neeyundaayirunnenkil ennu njaan
Oru maathra veruthe ninachu poyi
Oru maathra veruthe ninachu poyi
(arikil)

Wish... I wish...
If you were beside me.
Yes! I know it is a mere wishful thought...
But... for a moment...
I just wished that you were beside me....

Raathri mazha peythu thornna neram(raathri)
Kulur kaatililacharthulanja neram
Ititu veezhum neer thulli than sangeetham
Hruthanthikalil padarna neram
Kaatharayaayoru pakshiyen jaalaka
Vaathilin chaare chilacha neram
Vaathilin chaare chilacha neram
Oru maathra veruthe ninachu poyeee

Remember the night...
Just after the rains...
When nature was setting the scene for us...
When the cool breeze was caressing leaves...
When the tunes played by the slipping droplets
Were creeping in our hearts spreading warmth...
When the angst bird tweeted near the window...

Then for a moment...
Merely a moment...
I wished.. if you were beside me..
(arikil)

Mutathu njan natta chambaka thaiyyile
Aadhyathe mottu virinja naalil
Snigdhamaam aarudeyo mudi chaarthilen
Mugdha sankalpam thalodi nilkke
Etho puraathana prema kadhayile
Geethikal ennil chirakadikke
Geethikal ennil chirakadikke
Oru maathra veruthe ninachupoyi

When the maiden flower blossomed on the jasmine I planted in the garden
Watching that special dream flower adorned on the wet hair of someone..
Lines of some epic love story start to swing its wings in my heart...

Then for a moment...
Merely a moment...
I wished.. if you were beside me..

Mommy Moment... yet another one

Kiddo... I am really impressed with the maturity levels you had displayed today. You had to choose, yet you made your decision without dragging it. You were hurt, yet you stood tall. You were sad, yet you decided to keep it your own little secret.

Yes, you had your support. Feel blessed for having them in your life dear. Be grateful that the universe has surrounded you with all these people. Above all... be humble.

I myself was finding it difficult to handle things when I got a peek of the picture. As always, you handled not just your emotions, but me as well. Yes! When I look back... You did give me a mommy moment... :-)

As you grow a year older, this is all I have for you... Be grateful. Mmmmuah!

You were amazing today.

Changed!!

Life has been too exciting for quite some time now. I can now do with a bit of boring... I bow down & pray... Kavailamme.... Please......
