Kun Faya Kun

I first hear these lines in this song from the movie Rockstar. Something strange used to happen to me while listening to this song.. especially that particular line. Just like any other jobless day that day, I went in search of the meaning of this line. The first explanation I came across was... "Be and It is"... I couldnt make head or tail of this line from the Holy Quran. I eventually had to hammer a friend who understands this better than me.

This is my understanding of what he said...

The line is - Kun Fayakoon. Fayakoon is a single word. In this Sura(chapter), Allah claims his own capabilities. Allah's magnificence and ease with which he can accomplish anything is explained here. He is the one who has created everything from nothing. For Him, if wants to create something, all he has to do is, say.... Let there be... and it is created...... As simple as... Kun Fayakoon....

I am not sure if I have done justice to this link from the Quran Sura. But this is what I understood... O:-)
