Meditation for children

"Hold your child in gentle embrace. Breathe as though one breath flowing through two bodies. That is how to teach meditation to children." - Swami Veda Bharati

Aaaaah! Now I know why Kiddo calms down when I hug her.

Choose to Act

Come January, and the office life bustles with financial year ending activities. Every year... around this time... I realize... My financials too need tidying up AND I need to take help :-O

Yes! Yes! Yes! I know.... Financials aren't the only thing I need help with.

And one such tidying up made me think about the interactions I had with two of my close friends. They both spoke to me on the same topic, at around the same time. This was something I believed I had safely disposed into the ocean.

Now... Is that a mere coincidence?

Or is that a sign?

I know not... :-(

All I can hear now is

"Choose to ACT, rather than delay"

Dil Gira Dafatan

I think, I should start a new section named 'Monday Blues'. I have been hooked on this song for days now. While discussing this song with a friend, he mentioned that he had this song playing for a week. When he mentioned a week, I was wondering... How can one listen to the same song over & over again for a week. Well... Now... I know how... :-)

ARR... Tussi Great Ho!

The video provided here comes with the English translation.

Promise to Self

I had entered into the trial correction mode a few months back. Now don't hyperventilate. This mode was a one week trial program. Well, I am not giving out the results of this project here... :-D Everyone can very well guess how this would have gone. If you know me... well... yea... next topic ;-)

Well... at least that 1 week screamed at me... 'You have bigger things to sort!!!'.. So here I am... with an improvised list... for the time being...

1) Get a grip over myself!!
Please note, this doesn't mean I will not eat chocolate pastries or watch movies on the whim. I will still do that but, I just want to make incremental upgrades to my basic wiring.

2) Have home made food... only
Ice creams, sweets, milk shakes & any other sweet based comfort foods are not counted as food... ;-)

3) Reduce salt & sugar in take
Salt in food & Sugar in tea. Here again... Ice creams, sweets, milk shakes & any other sweet based comfort foods are not counted as food... :-D

4) Wanna have a chat with me? RING UP!!!
Note to Self... Leave chat clients to laptop alone.

5) Respected form of YOU
Aaaargh! Long term project... But I WILL CRACK THIS... one day... some day... maybe... next topic ;-)

There was something our yoga instructor mentioned... Take one thing at a time. Don't look at all the things you have to work on & get discouraged. One at a time... Hmmmmm... :-)

Personalized Card... :-)

Yet another year passes by. And what a way to start a new page... Got this awesome handmade 'card from Kiddo.

The pink colored page on the right side is the front page of the card which says... Happy Birth day AMMA. The colorless page on the left side is the back side of her card, saying... From Nandana to Amma.

She then designs this intricate cake bearing as many candles as my age. Yes, she got the number rite. She counted it out to me. What amazed me about the candles were, they are symmetrically laid - 3 on each side, 4 on each sides etc.

You can very clearly read the 'From Kiddo' on the cake. But... from Kiddo to who? Aaah! That is Magik behind this card. When you look at the paper copy of the card, you will be able to read the 'To Amma' message in the purple base of the cake.

She had created this card yesterday, on her way back from school. So, her personalized message goes... "I love you Mama. Tomorrow is Birthday. So I am Happy."

Thank you Kiddo... :-) This year, it indeed started with a blast.

My take on the song

I think it is the monday blues. What other explanation can one give when they find ME sit & write down the lyrics of a song... :-O Yes! I keep surprising myself....

I find this an extremely romantic song. I wonder how many will agree with me here. But that is okay.... you just sit back & enjoy the magic named Hariharan.

When you day is almost done, And your night has just begun
Think of me a while, Maybe I can make you smile

Close your eyes, Melt away, And when sleep don't come your way
Just think of me a while, Maybe I can make you smile

Aankhon ki Nindiya ko, Dee do tum Mera dhyan
Khwabom ke Hoton pe, Aa jaye muskan

And if you need me now, I will come to you somehow
And hold you in your dreams, Let me show you what I mean

Aankhon ki Nindiya ko, Dee do tum Mera dhyan
Khwabom ke Hoton pe, Aa jaye muskan

Din dhaka hua, Dil bhuja hua, Kyon liye ho baytte
Shyam ko sasah do, hamari aawaz ki dhanak se

I love you girl, You rule my world
And if you need me now, I will come to you somehow

Aankhon ki Nindiya ko, Dee do tum Mera dhyan
Khwabom ke Hoton pe, Aa jaye muskan

When you life, is all and done, And you don't know is where to run
Run to me my love, I will be waiting here for you

Raat raat bhar, jaag jaag kar, khud ko mat sazha do
Neend ki pari aayi jaayegi, Roshini bhuja do

I love you girl, You rule my world
And if you need me now, I will come to you somehow

Aankhon ki Nindiya ko, Dee do tum Mera dhyan
Khwabom ke Hoton pe, Aa jaye muskan

PS.
I just love the bit...
"And if you need me now, I will come to you somehow"

now that ones off the list

I hope my dear friend is happy now. He had been pushing me to finish my project 108 Soorya Namaskaars. Finally, I did that today.

A friend wanted to celebrate Makara Sankranti with 108 sun salutations. As always, I was skeptical about joining in. And then I realized... I am approaching this as if this is a task I need to strike off from my bucket list. I trashed that concept & took it as an opportunity to catch up with her.

Well... that simple realignment not only took me to her door steps early on a sunday morning, but..... I COMPLETED 108 SOORYA NAMASKAARS!!!!

My dear friend... now you have 1 thing less to pester me with... Thihahahahahahahahahaha....
