While they are busy........

She : When we (wives) are busy with work.... or anything for that matter... and the men are jobless... They hardly ever complain. They accept & adjust & are content in that state.
She {continuing after a deep pause}: But when we are jobless & they are busy... even if it was with work... we are irritated, frustrated, whiny & what nots. We just cannot handle it when they are busy & we are jobless.

This conversation happened 7 or 8 years back.

Well... Nothing much has changed since.... The girl still goes mad when the guy is busy when she is absolutely jobless!!!

Ooo... I just witnessed this all over again. The only difference... This time I was equipped with the gyan! ;-)

My dear... this is just a phase & it will pass... and then you will start complaining he is doing nothing & sitting idly at home... :-P

The Elephant story - How do they know?

Kiddo : Does the elephants even know that they are married?
Me.... Err... Trying to utilize her pause to conjure up an 8yr old's version of 'relationship transcends beyond the constructs of marriage'....
Kiddo {panic levels in her voice reaching a new heights}: All the elephants look same, don't they? So.. How will a boy elephant know that this girl elephant is his wife. What if he goes to a girl elephant thinking that it is his wife elephant.. But it is some other elephant.. And if the boy & wife were expecting a baby.. And goes to the other girl elephant & asks how the baby is.. What if the other girl goes... I do not have any baby... Won't the boy elephant get confused? How do they know who is the wife or husband?

Lakshmi-Narasimha

Came across this part of the Hiranyakashyapu-Prahlada_Narasimha story recently...

"He was in an extremely angry form known as Ugra Narasimha and or Jwala Nrisimha. The angry mode continued even after the demonic element namely Hiranyakashipu was destroyed. Shri Mahalakshmi then appeared in order to calm down the Lord and so she sat on His lap and held him and thus cajoled Him to attain the Shanti (peaceful) mode. Thus, the combined form of the Lord with Sridevi sitting on His lap came to be known as Lakshmi-Nrisimha."

Irony????

Kiddo {out of the blue}: Will you come & stay with me when I get pregnant?

Honestly... I was silent for quiet a bit... Was just looking at the irony behind the big picture. Then it dawned upon me...........

Of course I said yes! How can you say no to those puppy eyes. Well... I just hope I have at least 20yrs before I have to cross that bridge & by then, Kiddo would be much smarter than she is now... Hee hee... ;-)

He {after a short pause}: The only point left is molestation... Where there isn't much you can do... Just lay down & enjoy.
Me {(im)patiently waiting for his big finish}: ..........
He {with the naughtiest tone he could conjure}: Well... look at the bright side... You will finally be able to use your nails & teeth to your hearts content
