This is a short story that a friend has shared on her Facebook page today. This couldn't have been timed better. Recently, Kiddo & I were browsing through our good old days... And, I realized... We were happier when everything we had were smaller, including the expectations.

Yes... I know... Mistakes are numerous... But am I learning enough from them?

Serving Food

My Grandmother used to say, 'Vallolu vechalum, Nallolu vilambanam'. Which roughly translates to, irrespective of who cooks, the good and pleasant one should serve it. This was just a saying until I watched her....

One day, a friend of ours had stayed back for dinner. After being done with the cooking, I transfered the cooked food on to the serving dishes, put them on the table & sat down to eat with the rest of the gang.

And.... I just watched her in action with a gaping mouth... The manner in which she served the food. The good emotion that was carried by her.. The effort she took to serve what people liked.. The smile on her face.. The way she spoke while serving food.... Uff!

That was when I completely understood what my Gran had been trying to tell all this while. And, I realize... I can only look up in awe & admiration.....

Kiddo{during one of her deep thinking time} : I can do whatever I want when I am there. But still... I do not want to go there.

Why was Earth made?

Kiddo : Do you know why God made the Earth?
Me{sensing something interesting} : No, I do not. Do you know why?
Kiddo : Yes... I do... {Taking time to think}... But I think I am wrong.
Me : Thats okay... You tell me, let me hear it out...
Kiddo{interleaving each sentence with a pause } : God made Earth so that he could put humans in it. God made Earth so that he could put humans in it so that they would pray to God. And God will do things after humans pray to God.

Mmmmmmmmmuah!
