I was explaining Yamas to the children. Skimming through the Yamas would be a better usage.Me : Aparigraha! One of the interpretation is non-acceptance of gifts.
She {Even before I completed} : I know!! My mom refuses to celebrate my birthday for this reason - lot of gifts in the house.
Me {Sheepish} : Though our public statement might differ, I stand with your mother. I do not want to get into this party business.
Of course I used that example to explain Aparigraha from various angles :D
